PITTSBURGH -- Hallmark announced 26 winners in the company's eighth card-creation competition on Monday.

"That's Motherhood!" winners include Charlie Jabout from Pittsburgh. The Hallmark competition encouraged consumers to submit their designs or photos with a humorous Mother's Day message for a mom or a friend who's a mom.

"Every mom has moments that make her smile, laugh, roll her eyes or throw up her hands," said Theresa Murphy, Hallmark associate product manager. "Our winners captured those moments in some pretty creative ways. It made our job tough to choose just 26!"

Hallmark creative staff judged the cards on cohesiveness (how well the image and the message work together), sendability (could be sent by lots of different people), and theme (how well the entry used humor for Mother's Day).

The 26 winners hail from a variety of locales across the U.S. and Canada, including Pittsburgh. Jabout's winning card design was of a bottle of "Mom Spit" and what it was used for. For being a winner, Jabout received $250.

Starting Nov. 30, all of the winners' designs are available for sale online at hallmarkcontests.com. Several of the winners' cards will be selected for sale in stores for Mother's Day 2010.
