Do you love Holiday cookies? One of the best things about the holiday season is the smells for me. We just got our tree last night and I love the smell of it. I walk around all day going I love that smell. Another favorite is the smell of cookies baking.

know that cookie baking is very popular in Pittsburgh. Everyone seems to be making Holiday cookies. Some people start very early, my Aunt and Mother in law almost have all of theirs baked. Some people like me like to wait until closer to Christmas. I like to do mine a few days before Christmas. No matter when you bake them, or buy them they are great.

I really only make a few kinds. We always do cut out cookies. We have so much fun baking, then decorating them and we make a giant mess. I think this year I might do different sized stars and try to make a Christmas tree out of them. We will see if that works.

I want to try some new recipes this year too. What are your favorite holiday cookie recipes? What kind do you always make or are trying for the first time? Do you have any special holiday cookie traditions that you do with your kids?
