Lara Hayhurst, Trey Compton -- Where They Are Now
Lara Hayhurst and Trey Compton were participants in all the high school musicals and fall plays at North Allegheny High School from 2000 until our graduation in 2003, and Trey won the Gene Kelly Award for Best Actor in a musical for his portrayal of J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying at NA in 2002. Lara was usually found in the ensemble of the musicals but accepted the Gene Kelly Award for Best Ensemble in 2003 for NA's production of Les Miserables.Immediately following their graduation in '03, Trey and Lara moved to NYC, attended Pace University in lower manhattan, and have appeared in numerous city and regional productions. Trey appeared in Lincoln Center's Emmy Award Winning Production of Passion starring Patti LuPone and Michael Cerveris, and Lara has appeared at various regional theaters in New York and New Hampshire portraying the female leads of Oklahoma, Urinetown, Showboat, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and others.Trey and Lara have been dating since 7th grade and got engaged in NYC during their junior year of college. Their wedding is on April 19th here at home in Pittsburgh, and many of their theater instructors (including retired NA theater teacher John Woffington and NA choral instructor Ernie Pontiere) will be in attendance. They couldn't be more excited!Trey and Lara just finished doing a show at the Carousel Dinner Theater in Akron, and after the wedding, they plan on doing some more summer theater and continuing our life in NYC!
