PITTSBURGH -- Escape to sunny Spain!Mallorca brings the cuisine and the spirit of the Mediterranean to those in search of something different.“Mallorca is an experience. First of all, the name Mallorca is an island on the east coast of Spain. The owner brought the venture here to Pittsburgh, which is very unique to this area,” said manager Fernando Nunez. The award winning restaurant, located on Pittsburgh’s South Side, has been serving up Spanish dishes made from original recipes for 17 years.“We’re known for the freshest and great seafood, from all parts of the world; great beefs, steaks. It’s just a great family, great service, and lots of fun,” explained Nunez.Lots of fun and lots of food! Mallorca truly has something for everyone.“A lot of our menu dishes consist of ingredients from the north part of Spain, from the east coast, from the west coast, from the southern. Over here at Mallorca we combined them all together and came up with lots of different dishes,” said Nunez.Nunez explained, “We have octopus, fresh Maine lobsters, we have clams, mussels, oysters, succulent jump shrimp, fresh sea scallops. Plus, beautiful lobster tails from seven ounces to 24 ounces. We offer 15 different fishes. We have Chilean sea bass, yellow fin tuna, swordfish, and of course many others that are in season.”For land lovers, Mallorca offers a three-pound porter house steak, prime rib, veal chops, rack of lamb, osso buco, and much more. Mallorca also claims to have the best paella in town. When the sun is shining and the weather is perfect you can sit outside, and enjoy your meal on Mallorca’s patio. The patio is exactly where Byron Rand and his wife chose to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary.“We love the Spanish style ambiance. The service is outstanding, and I mean, outstanding. And the food is incredible. It’s a wonderful array of variety and taste. It’s prepared beautifully and served with great attention to detail,” said Rand.Mallorca is more than just a great place to dine; it’s a great place to create memories.“If you come on any given night, we probably have 15 to 20 birthdays. So it’s a celebration, it’s a lot of joy. For a great dining experience, please try Mallorca. You’ll have lots of fun, great food, and we look forward to serving you,” said Nunez.
