Macy's, WPXI Celebrate The Season Parade
ABOUT PARADEMacy’s and WPXI-TV have once again created a spectacular morning of entertainment for the Thanksgiving weekend. Channel 11 news anchors David Johnson and Peggy Finnegan bring you the warmth and magic of the annual Celebrate the Season Parade in downtown Pittsburgh telecast live on Channel 11. This holiday tradition begins Saturday, Nov. 28 at 9 a.m.Marching bands, colorful floats, a cast of costumed characters, huge balloons, amazing entertainers and Santa Claus will travel down Fifth Avenue as Macy’s and WPXI-TV present the 29th annual holiday classic.Celebrity guests scheduled to appear include Joe Mascolo, better known as Stefano Dimera of "Days of Our Lives," music superstars The Legendary Drifters and Jerome Bettis. Also appearing will be local recording stars B.E. Taylor, Mark Milovats and The Softwinds.Former parade guests include Christina Aguilera, Chubby Checker, Jim Kelly, Zachary Quinto, Usher, Alan Thicke, Alex Trebek and the Radio City Rockettes.Huge balloon characters that will make their way down Fifth Avenue include Elmo, Bob The Builder, Hello Kitty and more.There will be entertainment to fascinate you as Macy’s and WPXI also present the Last American Cowboy, World Champion jump roper Tori Boggs and the incredibly popular Amazing Christopher and his dancing dummies.
