'The Voice' artist Chris Jamison wows crowd at intimate acoustic concert

PITTSBURGH — Singer-songwriter Chris Jamison performed an intimate concert followed by a meet and greet at a Pittsburgh Xfinity Store by Comcast on Monday.

The North Hills native is famous for reaching the finale of season event of "The Voice" in 2014 for Team Adam and placing third.

Jamison, 23, lives in Pittsburgh and is working on new music and touring colleges in the area. His next event is Wednesday in Dayton, Ohio at Top of the Market.

He began the four-song show by saying that before "The Voice," he was going to college for business and "singing songs for a living wasn't what I envisioned." But he enjoys playing small shows like this one because they remind him of that time.

"This is exactly what I should have been doing," he said, adding how thankful he is to continue his musical career at home in Pittsburgh.

Jamison started by singing a cover of "Attention," by Charlie Puth. This wasn't the first time Jamison sang a Puth tune. He came back to "The Voice" in 2015 to sing Puth's vocals in "See You Again" with Wiz Khalifa.

He said the next song "Unaware," was written by an inspiration of his, Allen Stone, an American singer-songwriter. The song allowed him to show off his range, wowing the crowd with an impressive falsetto.

In an interview with See & Be Seen, Jamison said it's more of an upbeat song, unlike what he is used to writing, which are "lovey-dovey" romance ballads.

"I like to switch it up," he said.

Then Jamison surprised the small crowd with a bonus cover, asking, "Anyone want to hear some Stevie Wonder?"

With that, he asked the crowd to clap along to a wildly entertaining and bluesy rendition of "Superstitious" to end the concert.
