On December 4th  at 6:00PM we are proud to present an exclusive screening of DOIN' IT IN THE PARK: PICK-UP BASKETBALL, NYC.  This award winning film explores the definition, history, culture and social impact of New York's basketball scene, widely recognized as the worldwide "Mecca" of the sport. Over the years thousands of kids have played basketball at the Shadyside Boys & Girls Club.  We feel our unique culture allows each child to experience so much more than just top-flight instruction.  Our Youth programs are the building blocks for essential life skills including: teamwork, patience, self-confidence and leadership.  Beyond these the importance of performing well, learning new things, and making new friends are intangibles that provide benefits beyond measure.  We are dedicated to our Basketball program at “the Club” and need your support. Our recently initiated fund dedicated to Capital Improvements has already provided for the refurbishing of the Gymnasium floor and we will use the proceeds generated from this event for further improvements (i.e. painting and protective wall pads for the Gym, etc.). We know you will be as inspired as we are by our program and this film.
