SPEAKER Nina Marie Barbuto: Making Learning a Party
ABOUT NINAFounder and director of Assemble, a community space for arts + technology, Nina Marie Barbuto's own work includes architecture, film, sound, and art installation often with the idea of recycling noise into the system or elevating the vernacular spectacular. Assemble envisions a diverse community that creates, connects, and learns through the experience of art and technology.
Nina is also the co-founder of I Made It! Market, an organization that provides opportunities for artists to sell their wares. An idea based on urban acupuncture, the I Made It! Market partners with community, arts and non-profit organizations to raise funds and awareness to assist in improving their communities. She also is the program manager of the Girls, Math + Science Partnership, an initiative of Carneige Science Center. This time around, breakfast will be sponsored by the fabulous folks of Spark, who support the Kids+Creativity Network in Pittsburgh! ABOUT CREATIVEMORNINGSCreativeMornings is a monthly morning gathering for creative types.There are chapters around the world, including Los Angeles, New York, Auckland, Zurich, Chicago, and London.
Each event includes a 20 minute lecture, followed by a 20 minute group discussion. The gathering begins at 8:30am with the topic presentation starting at 9:00am and everyone taking off for work at 10am. CreativeMornings are free of charge!
The Pittsburgh Chapter is organized by Kate Stoltzfus and her dedicated team of volunteers.
