PITTSBURGH -- My son was so excited to try this toy out. He has seen it in all the stores and has wanted it. We were so excited to open the box and get started.Unfortunately, you have to charge Spike for four hours before you can play. So if you do have Spike on Christmas morning, make sure that the elves charge his battery before hand. I think it was worth the wait.My 3-year-old son Jack loved this dinosaur. He laughed and played with it for about an hour straight. It does so many things. He walks and roars and even burps. The more you play with him it seems like the more things he says and does. The remote is very easy for little kids to control. The buttons are big and the buttons have a picture on them to show what Spike is suppose to do. For Jack, he was the best. He gives Spike a huge thumbs up.My daughter Kelly (Age 4 1/2) was very afraid of him at first. She even hid the remote so we could not play with him. He is big and very loud so he can be scary at first. She has warmed up to him and has played with him a little, but she still would give him a thumbs down.My older daughter Mary (Age 8) likes him. She thinks he is fun and laughs at him. Spike has become a member of our family now. The kids talk about him like he is a pet. My son will run into tell me that spike said "Yummy" when he fed him is bone. Our neighbor Hunter (Age 3) was also really excited to play with Spike. He first came to my house to play with him. It was very funny because when Spike started to walk towards him he ran up the steps. He continued to play with him, loving every minute of it, but he was a little cautious at first. Hunter seemed to want to move Spike with his hands instead of the remote, but Spike does not really move that way. The boys were really cute with him, they were getting very close to him and talking to him and petting him. When Hunter played with him at his house he loved him. Also, his mom said that the morning after he had to give Spike back he woke up saying “Where’s my Spike?" Hunter gives Spike a big thumbs up.I think Spike is a great toy. If your kids like loud, big dinosaurs then you can not go wrong with this toy.COMPARE PRICES: (as of 11/11/08)Walmart: 129.99Target: 129.99Amazon.com: 129.99Toys-R-Us: 129.99Have you played with Spike?
