PITTSBURGH -- I loved this toy when I saw it advertised. I remember growing up and having bristle blocks. So I was very excited to try out this toy. It is a table that comes with blocks that are suppose to easily go together to make different things. I also bought the figure bucket which I think was a good idea. It gave us a lot more pieces to play with. This toy got very mixed reactions. Jack (Age 3) wanted to make an airplane so badly. We tried many times to make one and I think I came up with something that passed as an airplane. He could not have made it by himself. The blocks did not go together as easily as they appear to. They only fit a certain way and it is not always the way that you want it to. I tried to make a house like the sample showed, but I could not get the walls to stay together long enough to finish it.Hunter (Age 3) really did not want to play with the toy. He played a little, but it really did not hold his attention. When I brought it home I thought that the toy would just be played with a little and then the pieces would go missing and the kids would never play with it again. I was very surprised that my kids are still playing with it.Mary (Age 8) has made people and Kelly (Age 4) has made everything. She has made letters with the blocks and steps for her dolls to walk up. It has been a hit at my house. The box says that it is for 18 months and up, but I can not imagine an 18 month old baby being able to make anything. My friend’s baby who is two did not even know what to do with the blocks.I would say that it was a good toy, I think that it could be made so that they fit together better, but the kids liked it. I really do not see the need for the table. The kids played with the blocks without the table just as much as with.Have you played with this toy?
