PITTSBURGH -- From A to Z and from alligator to zebra the Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo is a toy that not only teaches your little lion their ABC’s, it also introduces them to animals and the sounds that they make.

Designed by Leap Frog, this is an educational and interactive toy that babies as young as 6 months old can play with.

The Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo has a colorful wheel that kids spin to hear music, letters or animal sounds depending on which mode is selected.

The letter mode says the letter name when the wheel stops, the animal mode says the animal name and sound they make and the music mode plays fun and catchy tunes.

Brendan (Age 1 ½) goes wild every time he hears the ABC’s so he loved spinning the wheel to hear the alphabet. He had to keep spinning the wheel to hear more letters (as it would only say a few letters at a time) and he would get excited when it started singing again.

I liked this toy because it encouraged cause and effect as kids had to keep spinning the wheel to keep hearing more sounds and letters (and linked actions with reactions.) It also helps with letter recognition and helps younger babies develop their motor skills.

Brendan played with this toy for a good while and at one point tried spinning the wheel with his feet (and sitting on it, too.) He clapped excitedly when the alphabet song came on and said “oooohhhhh” when the animals made noises.

If you’re looking for a toy for a baby this holiday season I think that the Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo is a good choice to take a spin on. Its fun, educational and one that will keep even the youngest babies entertained.
