Rising Gas Prices Could Help To Lower Auto Insurance

With gas prices at an all-time high, many people have cut back on driving. One of the largest cutbacks has been driving to and from work. Many people are using public transportation and carpooling more than ever, which can help you save some money.

According to the Consumer Federation of America, Pennsylvanians spend more than $950 per year, on average, on their auto insurance premiums. If you cut back on your commutes to and from work enough, as well as any other deductions in mileage you can make, you may fall into a lower driving classification that can save you up to 15 percent.

The savings, on average, could net you close to $150 in annual savings. Insurance companies say that the savings could be immediate, you just have to present a proof of your mileage such as a receipt from your last oil change.
