County Health Department Offers Free H1N1 Vaccines

The Allegheny County Health Department is offering another free H1N1 vaccination clinic.

The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the health department in Oakland. The same hours will be in effect for a clinic on Friday.

Health department officials said the clinic is free and no appointment is necessary.

However, the clinics are for priority groups only. That includes people 6-months to 24-years-old; pregnant women; health care workers and people with underlying medical conditions.

Gov. Ed Rendell said the statewide swine flu vaccine clinics have been a success. More than 100,000 got their vaccines last weekend.

The state received about two million doses.

Rendell said he hopes the state will eventually receive six million vaccines.
