Lung, Heart Transplant Program Developed Locally
WVU Heads Program
The first lung and heart transplant program in the state of West Virginia is under development at WVU.
Dr. Timothy Hall, the new surgical director of the university's heart institute, says the program would prevent transplant patients from having to travel out of state.
About six West Virginia heart patients and 10 lung patients travel to Ohio, Pittsburgh or Maryland for treatment.
