College Students Urged To Get Meningitis Vaccine

ACHD Offers Shots Daily

5:17 p.m. EDT August 18, 2003

As college students return to dorms this month, they face an increased risk for bacterial meningitis.

As a result, the Allegheny County Health Department will be making meningitis vaccines available at the health department.

The shots will be available Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The cost is $64.

State law requires all students living in dorms to get the shots or sign waivers.
