MENINGITIS
SYMPTOMS

The investigation began after a student showed confirmed symptoms of the disease.

According to the Beaver County Times, lab tests came back inconclusive.

Superintendent Frank Aloi said the Health Department contacted school officials and advised them to send out letters notifying parents.

The letter recommended parents immediately notify a doctor if their child developed symptoms.

Bacterial meningitis is the more serious of the two types.

It's spread by direct close contact with an infected person.

Bacterial meningitis can cause severe disease that can result in brain damage or even death.

But, it can be treated with antibiotics.
