During WPXI's Great Diet Challenge, Tonya followed the South Beach Diet.Tonya works at Children's Hospital. Earlier this year she walked a marathon in San Diego and lost 50 pounds. After her marathon she slacked off and gained some of her weight back. She also feels knowing people are watching her will be motivating.In the past, Tonya has followed Weight Watchers. Tonya works out regularly, 3-5 times per week, most often to video tape and DVD workout programs. She also frequents the stationary bike and the treadmill.

Weight Loss Goal: 30 lbs
Tonya's Diet DiaryWeek 1Things are going well so far. I am on day 5 and I have not threatened anyone for food :) I have used a couple of the prepared meals and fixed some items on my own. I have not started exercising yet, I hope to be starting that the weekend.Hmmm..what am I missing the most??? Something sweet. Yesterday was the worst so far with my cravings, but I survived. I think that is what I would miss with WW, that you can eat some of the "bad stuff" as long as you include it in your points.
Week 2This week was tough, I have decided dieting takes the fun out of traveling :( But I just have to remember to keep everything in moderation and if there is something I really want I need to plan the day and trade out something else for that item (within reason of course).
Week 4I am leaving today around noon to got out of town for my father’s birthday party after my presentation. I tried to weigh myself this morning, but I think Halloween and my birthday cake caught up with me. This is turning out to be a bad month for dieting :( If Channel 11 does this again they should do it in May right before swimsuit season.
