This is a note to Kelly and Tonya regarding your diet plans. I definitely know how hard it is to diet, I have been doing it (wrong) for years. Good Luck to both of you, stick to it and the pounds and inches will come off. Better health is also a plus.I recently got the South Beach Diet book so I am going to use the two of you for my encouragement. I need to take off about 30 lbs. And taking the pounds off is not just for looks it is truly for health issues also. I am 57 years old and would like to be around alot longer.I wish the both of you Good Luck and Good Health.

Kelly and Tonya,Hang in there and stick to the plan. Remember, you have a goal in mind, stick with it, your reward will come at the end. Have you tried the book recipes? If you look through the books there are plenty of recipes that can be used. Try to use the book and not doctor something up to make it fit. Plan ahead for the week so all your meals are accounted for. Try the fat free whipped topping on the jello. I substituted romaine lettuce leafs for my bread. I wrap the slice of turkey or ham and light Swiss cheese in the romaine with a little mustard and it tastes great. Canadian bacon is great at only 15 calories per slice. I found that preparing or packing lunch and or breakfast the night before makes it easier to go to work the next day with my plan intact. I have been on the diet for 3 and one half weeks and have lost 18 pounds. My goal is 40 pounds. I have not incorporated exercise into my routine yet, but may start to do that in week 5.
Hey Tonya! Hang in there! You are really a role model for all of us. I can't believe you walked a marathon! That's great. Keep up the good work.

Kelly and Tonya,I have weight to loose myself so these stories on WPXI are of great inspiration as I mentally prepare for the launch of my weight loss. There's no time like the present for tackling your weight loss challenge. Make it your challenge and conquer it! Sometimes we forget it's all about making the changes and, sticking to them!Wishing you every success with motivation and will power as a friend just told me.
Most sincerely,
Carol Horvatin
Tonya,Please don't put Nemo on a diet! You can do it!!!!!!!! Hang in there Tonya!

I have been on the South Beach diet for over 4 weeks. I have lost 7 lbs. Just remember you didn't gain the weight fast, so why should you loose it fast. You will loose the weight you want as long as you stick to it.-Tonith
Remember, muscle weighs more than fat. If your clothes are getting looser, than you're losing fat - but not muscle. That's why you're not losing "weight". Don't watch the scale!
Hey Guys,I also tried this diet not too long ago and lost 11 lbs in the first week... I think the key was the no alcohol and I was walking an hour a day for 5 or 6 days that week. If you can, get to walking!!! Good luck in your final weeks!
