ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.ELIGIBILITY: The “High School Hoops ½ Court Shot Contest” (“Contest”) is sponsored and administered by WPXI, Inc. (“Sponsor”). Employees of Shop ‘n Save, WPXI, Inc., Cox Broadcasting, Inc., the National Broadcasting Company, and each of their respective affiliated companies, subsidiaries, and advertising or promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with, such employees, are not eligible to participate or to win.HOW TO ENTER AND WIN:1. Watch for the High School Basketball “Games of the Week”: The Contest will be conducted at half-time during high school basketball games selected by Sponsor. Each week during the eight-week period beginning on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 and ending on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 (the “Contest Period”), Sponsor will select one boys’ local high school basketball game to be the “Boys’ Game of the Week” and one girls’ local high school basketball game to be the “Girls’ Game of the Week” for that week (the “Games of the Week”). To find out what the Games of the Week are for a particular week, visit www.WPXI.com or www.Pittsburgh.com and click on the “High School Hoops” link on the home page.2. Obtain a Numbered Ticket at a Game of the Week: At each Game of the Week, starting one (1) hour before the game’s scheduled start time and continuing until the end of the first half of the game, Sponsor will be distributing numbered tickets to people in attendance at the game. Sponsor will be handing out the numbered tickets in the lobby or ticket sales area outside the school’s gymnasium. Only one (1) ticket will be given to each person. You do not need to purchase a ticket to the game to receive a numbered ticket – simply visit the lobby or ticket sales area before the end of the first half of the game and remain in that area until Sponsor has conducted the drawing to select one (1) contestant to participate in the Contest (the “Contestant”). The drawing will be conducted as follows: At the end of the first half of the game, Sponsor will randomly select three (3) numbers from among all of the numbers distributed during the first half of that game. All persons who obtained a numbered ticket must be present at the time of the drawing to be eligible to participate. Sponsor will announce the selected numbers and the persons holding a ticket bearing the number announced by Sponsor must promptly present him or herself to the announcer. A participant whose number is selected in the drawing but who is not present, does not present himself to the announcer at the time his name is announced, or does not wish to participate in the Contest will be disqualified and the drawing process described above will be repeated to select a substitute Contestant. Only the person selected as the Contestant will have the opportunity to attempt a ½ court shot during half time of the game (as described below) for a chance to win a prize.3. If Selected as a Contestant, Make a ½ Court Shot to Win: Three (3) Contestants at each Game of the Week will be given the chance to take one (1) shot from behind the ½ court line of the basketball court during half time of the game. If the shot is successful (i.e., the Contestant makes a basket), the Contestant will be declared a Winner. Contestants will be selected in the manner described in paragraph 2, above. Each Contestant will be allowed to make only one shot. No practice or warm-up shots will be permitted. Contestants must remain behind the ½ court line. The decisions of Sponsor and the Contest administrators with respect to all aspects of the Contest, including the rules applicable to the ½ court shot component of the Contest, will be final and binding in all respects.PRIZE DESCRIPTION: Subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these Official Rules, each Winner will receive a Two Hundred Fifty dollar ($250) cash prize, and the school hosting the basketball game at which the Winner made his or her ½ court shot will receive a Two Hundred Fifty Dollar ($250) cash prize. There will be two ½ court shot Contest opportunities offered each week during the nine-week Contest Period, as described above in these Official Rules, for a maximum number of forty-eight (48) possible Winners in the Contest. No more than forty-eight (48) $250 prizes will be awarded (and fewer than forty-eight prizes may be awarded, depending on the number of winners).ODDS OF BEING SELECTED AS A CONTESTANT: The odds of being selected as a Contestant at a Game of the Week depend on the total number of numbered tickets distributed for that game as described in paragraph 2, above.PRIZE CLAIM PROCEDURES: Winners and participating schools may waive their right to receive prizes. Prizes are nonassignable and nontransferable. Winners and participating schools are solely responsible for reporting and payment of any taxes on prizes. Winners may be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility, and a liability and publicity release (except where prohibited by law) as a condition of receiving prize. Failure to timely sign and return the affidavit or release or to comply with any term or condition of these Official Rules may result in a Winner’s disqualification and the forfeiture of his or her interest in the prize. Prizes won by minors will be awarded to parent or legal guardian who must sign any affidavit or release required by Sponsor. Except where prohibited, participation in the Contest constitutes each Contestant’s consent to Sponsor’s publication of his or her name, biographical information, likeness and image (including without limitation his or her ½ court shot attempt, if photographed or recorded) in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation or further compensation.
