Blake Shelton falls onstage, says he was drunk and blames Pitbull

Here's hoping Blake Shelton didn't break his "Hillbilly Bone" this weekend when he fell on stage during a performance at Pendleton Whisky Music Festival in Pendleton, Ore.

Shelton was goading his guitarist into a playoff with his fiddle player when he backed up and seemed to stumble backward over a small platform, knocking down a microphone stand. He rolled over, scrambled to his feet, stood the stand up and then sat back down on the platform during the fiddle solo.

After the show, Shelton used Twitter to solicit fan videos of this tumble, claiming he had been overserved.

“Ok Pendleton I know somebody is bound to have video of me falling on stage last night!! Please!! I have to see it!!! Post that (expletive)! And yes I had been drinking. A lot..,” he tweeted.

Soon after, Shelton joked that he blamed Latin rap star Pitbull, a previous performer at the festival, for the snafu.

“It was my attempt at competing with your show... I am a dancing (machine) when I don’t take a 10 second giant … fall,” Shelton added.

When a fan tweeted criticism at Shelton for his behavior, comparing him to Justin Bieber, "The Voice" coach wasn’t having it.

"Oh I'm sorry ma'am... This account is meant for people who actually have a sense of humor.. We're not accepting cry baby tweets today.. Maybe try again tomorrow!" he shot back.

Shelton will continue his summer tour Friday in Brooklyn, Mich.
