Comic-Con: Watch Jason Momoa hit the high seas in the first 'Aquaman' trailer

SAN DIEGO - Grab your tridents and hop on your seahorses, everyone, because the "Aquaman" trailer is here!

Director James Wan and his cast premiered the first footage of DC's next superhero film (in theaters Dec. 21) at Comic-Con at a Warner Bros' panel that also showcased "Shazam!" and other upcoming movies.

Aquaman (Jason Momoa) is back on the big screen for the first time since last year's "Justice League," and Wan tells USA TODAY that he wanted the debut trailer to "give you a sense of the action-adventure swashbuckling nature and the world-creating travelogue journey movie."

The director also focused on "positioning who Aquaman is to a whole new audience (like) kids today who are not familiar with this character. He is known as a bit of a joke in the superhero world. One of the things we wanted to show was that’s not the Jason Momoa version of this."
