Braves To Place Three On DL

Atlanta, GA -- (Sports Network) - Following Sunday's 17-inning, 7-6 victory over the Houston Astros at Turner Field, Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox revealed that a trio of players are headed to the 15-day disabled list.Relievers Manny Acosta and Jeff Bennett along with utility man Omar Infante are expected to be placed on the DL before the Braves open their six-game road trip against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday. Acosta exited Sunday's game with a strained right hamstring while beating out a potential double-play relay in the bottom of the 16th. He is 3-5 with three saves and a 4.02 earned run average in 41 games this season. Infante also suffered a strained right hamstring and was forced to leave in the third inning of Sunday's contest. He is batting .282 (31-for-110) with one home run and 11 RBI in 41 games. Bennett injured his right shoulder during Saturday's 6-1 loss. He has made 41 appearances in 2008, going 1-4 with two saves and a 4.28 ERA. The Braves are expected to recall right-handed reliever Vladimir Nunez and infielder Brent Lillibridge from Triple-A Richmond. The other pitcher has yet to be determined.
