Milwaukee, WI -- (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Brewers have reportedly acquired pitcher C.C. Sabathia from the Cleveland Indians on Sunday.According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the deal is contingent upon paperwork being finalized and medical reports being exchanged and that Sabathia could be in action for the Brewers on Tuesday against Colorado. The reigning American League Cy Young Award winner C.C. Sabathia will head to Milwaukee for a package that includes top prospect left fielder Matt LaPorta. Sabathia is 6-8 with a 3.83 earned run average this season, but is 6-5 with a 2.16 mark since April 22. Last season, the lefty went 19-7 with a 3.21 ERA while pitching a league-high 241 innings to capture the Cy Young award. The left-handed Sabathia will become a free agent at the end of the season and already had turned down a contract extension to stay in Cleveland. Milwaukee (49-39) is currently tied with St. Louis for second place in the NL Central and sits 3 1/2 games behind the Chicago Cubs for first.
