Chicago, IL -- (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers recalled pitcher Scott Feldman from Double-A Frisco in time to start Monday's series opener against the Chicago White Sox.Feldman tossed six solid innings as the Rangers defeated the White Sox, 6-1. The right-hander gave up one run on four hits to pick up the win in place of Eric Hurley, who was originally scheduled to pitch. To make room on the roster, the team optioned catcher Taylor Teagarden to Triple-A Oklahoma. Feldman, 25, had gone 3-3 with a 5.03 earned run average in 16 games (14 starts) before being optioned to Frisco on July 11. The 24-year-old Teagarden had his contract purchased from Oklahoma on Friday. He connected for his first major league hit on Sunday, a solo home run in the sixth inning that provided the only run in a 1-0 victory over the Twins. It was just the 11th time the Rangers have ever won a 1-0 game with the benefit of a solo home run and the first since July 27, 1993 at Kansas City, when Rafael Palmeiro clubbed a home run in the seventh off Kevin Appier. The transaction makes Teagarden eligible for the U.S. Olympic roster to which he was selected on Wednesday.
