Peer-to-Peer File Sharing Growing Rapidly

Peer-to-peer (P2P) users conduct over 1.4 billion searches a day. That's more than ten times larger than Google.

450 million people have downloaded file-sharing software. That's roughly half of all internet users.

There are over 20 million unique P2P users a day.

10-12 million people are on the networks at any one time.

From August 16-29, 2007 the terms:"credit card with cv2numbers", "April credit card information", and "Bank of American credit cards" were searched on P2P networks 55,823 times.

In that same time period the terms: "credit report", "credit score", and credit report barbara dillard" were searched on P2P networks 117,965 times.
