Web Site Aims To Help Women Find Right Clothing Size

When Is Size 10 Really Size 10? Clothing Sizes Not Uniform, Causing Confusion For Women

The fashion world can play tricks on consumers when it comes to size. Some designers try to make you feel smaller by making the sizes bigger.

If someone typically wears a size 10 in pants, they may wear a size 6 or 8 in some brands. It can make buying the right size a tough problem for shoppers.

So why isn't a size 6 in one brand a size 6 in another?

Justin Gordon, a fashion coordinator, said, "The fashion industry doesn't have regulated sizing standards."

There is some help for this problem.

SizeMeUpOnline.com is a Web site developed by young entrepreneurs.

The idea is if you know your size in GAP jeans, for example, you can look on the site and get your recommended size for other brands.

Right now the Web site is in the beginning stages and asking for help from shoppers. Size Me Up wants shoppers to help by entering the type of clothing, the brand, style and size of garments they buy.

It's hoping that in a few months that the "size me up" button will be available with just a click at your favorite online stores.
