Victoria’s Secret is famous for its lingerie, but now the company is being sued by a woman who claims her bras caused painful skin irritations.

Roberta Ritter from Cleveland, OH wears Victoria’s Secret bras and said they caused her painful allergic reactions--- including itching, hives and rashes that she said led to scarring.

UPDATE: According to Dawn Chmielewski, an attorney for Ritter and another woman suing the lingerie chain, nearly 500 women have called Chmielewski about joining in the lawsuit. The attorney said she is now in the process of returning calls to the women to hear their stories.

Chmielewski claims her own tests of the bras showed they contained formaldehyde. She said the bras in question are Angels Secret Embrace and Very Sexy extreme push-up bras.

One Pittsburgh woman who said she always wears Victoria’s Secret bras showed Channel 11 News welts and hives on her chest and wondered if her Victoria’s Secret bra caused the irritations.

Victoria’s Secret has not stopped selling the bras, but is investigating the complaints.

Victoria’s Secret issued this statement: “We have strict quality controls around our products, and we do not use formaldehyde in our bras. Customer safety and satisfaction are always our primary concerns, and we take very seriously any issues our customers may have with our products."
