PITTSBURGH -- The body of a woman was found in the Ohio River on Thursday.

Police reported that the woman appeared to be in her 40s.

The body was found behind the Old Western Penitentiary.

Authorities do not believe the body was in the water long before it was discovered.

Police are working to confirm the identity of the victim.
