'It Was Dark': Man Struck, Killed By Car In Washington Co.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. -- A 38-year-old man was killed Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in Washington County.John Janda, of Chambersburg, was struck along West Pike Street near St. Patrick's Church, police said.Police said Janda was crossing the roadway when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle."We had heavy rain," said Detective Alexander Coghill of the Canonsburg Police Department. "It was dark. The deceased was wearing dark clothing. It is being treated as an accident."So far, no charges have been filed against the driver. Blood-alcohol test results are pending, police said.
