1 hospitalized, another taken into custody in Lawrence Co. ATV accident

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Pa. — One person was hurt a after an all-terrain vehicle accident in Lawrence County early Monday morning.

The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. on Mahoning Avenue in New Castle, police said.

One person was taken to Jefferson Memorial Hospital and then flown to another hospital. Her name and condition were not released.

Witnesses said another woman on the ATV was asking them not to call 911.

“She was like there was three people on the quad. There was some dude driving that I don’t know his name. She was like, ‘please drive the quad away and hide it so that the cops don’t see it,’” one witness said.

So far, it’s not clear what caused the crash.
