ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Michelle Fazek admitted to Channel 11's Renee Kaminski that she wasn't a perfect mother. She said she tried repeatedly to take custody of her 13-year-old daughter well before the teen shot her sleeping father, 34-year-old Matthew Booth, inside the family's home early Monday morning.Investigators said conditions at the Elizabeth Township home were unfit for humans or the dozen malnourished and flea-infested pets Animal Control officers removed.Fazek said she left the home two years ago after Booth grew more and more violent and always intended to take her children.Fazek said her daughter had been abused and that she had complained several times to county child welfare officials that her daughter and his brother, 14, were living in squalor.Fazek's account of her abuse and the abuse of her children along with published reports of the couple's ongoing domestic problems has angered the victim's mother, Ann Booth. The girl is set to undergo psychiatric evaluation sometime in the next few days. She was charged as an adult and is being held without bond.
