ELIZABETH, Pa. -- A 13-year-old girl who confessed to shooting her father was taken from court Friday morning to Western Psych to be evaluated after a court ruled she will be tried as a juvenile in the case.Defense Attorney Patrick Nightingale said, "She's absolutely distraught, very upset. It's good we're getting her to Western Psych today."Her only support in court during her preliminary hearing were her neighbors, who the teen waved to in tears as she left the courtroom.District Attorney Stephen Zappala said, "She's as much a victim as the perpetrator of the crime possibly. She's charged with criminal homicide. She did take someone's life.”Meantime Zappala went to the girl's home on Pitt Street in Elizabeth Township to look at the scene of the crime and deplorable conditions.“The toilets are backed up -- very little clothing. The smell is incredible. Everything is damaged,” Zappala said.On Monday, the teen admitted to killing her father, 34-year-old Matthew Booth, after years of alleged abuse. Zappala said county agencies have known about this case since the late 90s."There is a host of physical and sexual issues -- incredibly sad. Why wasn't she and her brother removed? CYF's going to answer questions about that too,” Zappala said. The district attorney said no one should ever live in the house again and he's contacting the health department so it can be torn down.Zappala's office offered two numbers for people to call and report child abuse:
