BETHEL PARK, Pa. -- A Bethel Park high school student accused of bringing two soft-pellet guns to school has been expelled.Police charged Tyler Stay with having the guns in the trunk of his car last April, which is against school policy.Last week, the school board voted to expel stay, but never informed him of the decision. He and his parents found out on Tuesday after receiving a telephone call from a reporter.Stay said, “Mistakes were made. I know I made a mistake. I'm sorry I made a mistake. In hindsight it was a really dumb thing to do, not to clean my car.”“I don't think he ever had detention. I'm proud to have him as a son. It's like they're giving him the death penalty for being forgetful,” Stay’s father Terry Stay said. The family said it may go to court to appeal the board's decision.
