A brand-new museum is opening on Wednesday.

It is dedicated to McDonald’s signature sandwich, created in western Pennsylvania.

Leaders at the Big Mac Museum restaurant in North Huntingdon are looking for the region's most enthusiastic Big Mac fans.

In celebration of the museum's opening, the restaurant is handing out one Big Mac sandwich every week for a year to the first 100 customers through the door on Wednesday.

Overnight, Channel 11 found many fans racing to get in line.

"I packed all kinds of treats for them. We have a TV. We have a tent if it rains, so we're ready. We're ready for anything,” one woman said.

The Big Mac debuted at Jim Delligatti's Uniontown, Pa., restaurant in 1967.

The sandwich only cost 45 cents.

Today, the Big Mac is sold in more than 100 countries around the world.
