Less than three hours after the search resumed for a missing Washington County man, he was discovered dead by his cousin and a friend who had been searching along with emergency personnel.

The victim was found over an embankment on Donaldson Road in Robinson Township.

Police said James Horvath, 24, of Midway, disappeared while riding his ATV in Robinson Township around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Friends said they planned to meet Horvath to watch the Steelers game, but when he didn't show up, they alerted family members who called 911 for help.

A dozen quads and volunteers from the Midway, McDonald and Smith-Slovan fire departments took part in a six-hour search, but found no sign of Horvath. The search resumed Monday morning at around 8 a.m.

An autopsy determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma of the neck. The manner of death was ruled accidental.
