NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The local couple injured in a violent house explosion in East New Castle shared their story Thursday.Newlyweds Jared and Sophie Baker were hurt while visiting their friend Patrick Henry at his home last year. The home exploded after Henry allegedly unscrewed a gas line to a water heater as part of a suicide attempt. The blast damaged dozens of homes.Jared and Sohpie Baker talked about their lives since the explosion at a news conference Thursday morning."I had burns on my hands and face and everything, but it was more emotional damage than anything -- just not being able to see my wife or anything. And it just took a lot out of me,” Jared Baker said.Sophie Baker said, "I was moved to a nursing home after I came out of a coma. And there I had to learn how to walk, talk and eat again. But that was with the help of my family though, too."Sophie returned home in March. She has been back to work for about the last five months.
