MOON TWP., Pa. -- A former Moon Area High School teacher was charged Saturday with several sex crimes against a student.

Beth Ann Chester, a freshman physical education teacher until she resigned on Dec. 27, confessed to having sex with a 14-year-old student in a car in a parking lot, police said.

Police said they seized the student's cell phone and Chester's computer as evidence in the case.

Chester was charged with endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, sexual abuse of children, unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communication facility and criminal solicitation.

Chester remains in jail on $50,000 cash bond.
