Local No-Kill Shelter In Fourth Place

NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- The Washington Area Humane Society is in a nationwide $1 million makeover contest and are currently in fourth place.The no-kill shelter said they desperately need the money because the sewer system is shot and their old cat sanctuary buliding is condemned.The Washington Area Humane Society is run solely through private donations and does not receive support from the government.On March 31, the organization with the most online votes will win the $1 million shelter makeover. Second place is a cash prize of $10,000 and the next 18 shelters with the highest point scores receive $5,000 each.There are three easy steps to earn 200 points:1. Go to www.zootoo.com and register to earn points for the Washington Area Humane Society of Eighty Four, PA, 15330. You will need to use ZIP code 15330 when you register.2. Once registered, you will receive an e-mail from www.zootoo.com instructing you to validate your registration. You must validate your registration to earn the 100 points for the WAHS.3. Once you validate, log on to your profile and click the "Volunteer 100pts" tab and add at least one volunteer item to your profile to earn another 100 points.
