Attorney Takes Channel 11 Inside Tiger Ranch Cat Shelter

Posted: 1:47 pm EDT March 18, 2008Updated: 7:05 pm EDT March 18, 2008

Ron Valasek is the attorney for Linda Bruno and the Tiger Ranch. He wouldn't allow his client to talk, but he took Channel 11's Vince Sims on a tour of the ranch on Tuesday. Vince was shown intake rooms, medical rooms and holding areas for cats.

"Each room had heaters and all plugged in. When they left they unplugged everything and took dishes, food and water with them," explained Valasek.

Vince reported that the rooms were clean with a strong cat odor to them. A volunteer admits they had done some cleaning to a couple of areas since the raid.

During the raid, police claim they found more than 400 cats, many sick and dying. Investigators called it horrific.

Valasek admits his client believes cats should be allowed to die a normal death and will not euthanize an animal. And those that died were stored in freezers, one of which was confiscated, until they could be buried on the property.

"Its designed to make it as comfortable as possible for that cat to die."

The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which organized the raid, is asking for donations to help with the cats' continuing care.

Monetary donations may be made via the PSPCA Web site; via phone at 215-426-6304, ext. 217; or by mail to Pennsylvania SPCA, 350 E. Erie Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19134.

Supplies may be sent to the Clarion County SPCA, 9562 Route 322, Shippenville, PA 16254.
