A pursuit on the Parkway ended with the vehicle's tires down to the rims.

Police tried to stop 21-Year-Old Jaron Wells of Steubenville, Ohio, on Smallman Street for suspected drug violations aroudnd 3 a.m. Thursday. But Wells and a passenger took off.

The chase went onto the Parkway West on Green Tree Hill, then to Carnegie and ended in Imperial when police placed spike strips along Rt. 22.

But the search for the suspects did not stop there. When the car stopped, Wells jumped from the vehicle and took off on foot.

He was later caught when someone called in about a suspicious person walking along the highway.

Trooper Christopher H. Callagahn said, “The suspect fled from Noblestown Road, down the Imperial exit, and troopers and North Fayette officers in pursuit and were able to apprehend the suspect and take him into custody without incident."

Wells is now charged with escape, flight to avoid apprehension and resisting arrest. He will be arraigned in Pittsburgh municipal courts later Thursday.

The name of the passenger, who was also arrested, has not been released.
