Battle To Save Schenley High School Continues

PITTSBURGH -- Nearly two-dozen supporters gathered at a public hearing to convince the Pittsburgh school board to save Schenley high school.Superintendent Mark Roosevelt said it was too expensive to renovate the historic school.Last fall, Roosevelt proposed closing it, but decided to give the school a second look when parents and students protested.Repairs to the building would cost 64 million and Roosevelt’s recommendation is to be announced next Monday.
