BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. -- A Beaver County woman was charged Thursday on suspicion of recklessly endangering a child by smoking crack cocaine.

According to the Beaver County Times, Mary Lou Makley smoked the drug while taking care of the 2-year-old boy on Wednesday.

The boy began coughing that night and was taken to a local hospital, where doctors found high levels of cocaine in his blood officials said.

Makley is being detained in in Beaver County jail.
