Break Flooded South Side Streets On Sunday

OAKMONT, Pa. -- An overnight water main break affected 20 homes in Oakmont.A break in a 12-inch line shut down Allegheny Avenue at Hulton Road at 2 a.m. Tuesday.Houses along Allegheny Avenue have no water. However, road crews made repairs in time for the morning rush.This was the second break to affect a local street in just two days.A break in a 16-inch line closed Sarah Street on the South Side for more than 12 hours on Monday. UPMC South Side did not have running water.Water flooded the street and several basements.
