North Shore Casino Owner Summoned By Gaming Control Board

Don Barden Awarded Pittsburgh Slots License

The owner of the new North Shore casino was summoned to appear before the state gaming control board on Wednesday.

The board questioned Don Barden on his efforts to secure financing for the Majestic Star.

He was asked to appear before the board after he was in Harrisburg Monday looking for more time to detail his $780 million in financing for the casino.

Barden told the court his team needed for more time to finalize the financing. He told the board that his contractors have been very understanding and construction is even a little ahead of schedule.

Barden and his team said they hope to have a full financing report to give to the board next month.
