Contractor Answers Questions About Casino Financing Concerns
Meeting Scheduled Between Don Barden, Contractor On Monday

PITTSBURGH -- Channel 11 News has learned that Majestic Star Casino owner Don Barden owes $10 million to a contractor for work already done at the site of Pittsburgh’s new casino.Despite the money owed, the contractor is still on the job, and no workers have walked off the job site.Dan Keating of Keating Corporation told Channel 11 he is impressed with Don Barden, and supports all of his efforts.Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato told Channel 11 that the State Gaming Board needs to address the concerns about the casino's financing.But Onorato remained optimistic about Don Barden’s efforts to get the financing he still needs.He told Channel 11, "I want to stress again the steel is out of the ground. There is a lot of construction already completed."Don Barden and the contractor are scheduled to meet on Monday, June 30th to talk about the money still owed, and about Barden’s financing for the casino.Stay tuned to Channel 11 News and WPXI.com for further developments.
