BIG BUTLER, Pa. -- An alleged child molester chose to assault his victim while she was trapped with him on a moving carnival ride.

On Friday, John Roy Barlow, 44, of Grove City was arrested by state troopers in Prospect Borough, Butler County on charges of aggravated indecent assault and corruption of minors.

He was taken into custody after he was accused of touching a 12-year-old girl inappropriately on the Bavarian Swing Ride at the Butler County Fair.

A friend of the victim's family said that Barlow waited for the ride to start before he is said to have committed the assault. The girl's screams originally went unnoticed because screaming is so common at amusement parks.

State police report that Barlow was on probation at the time of this incident. His criminal history includes a multitude of driving-related charges, including fleeing from police and resisting arrest.

Barlow is currently being held in the Butler County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
