Husband, Wife Found Shot To Death In Beaver Falls

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- Neighbors told Channel 11 they heard a noise Monday night, but they thought it was fireworks.That is until they learned Tuesday afternoon that two people were killed.People who live in the 800 block of Second Avenue in Beaver Falls describe it as a quiet neighborhood, but the peace and serenity of the community were disrupted when police found a couple dead inside their home.Neighbor Ethel Harris said, "For this to happen, a lot of the elderly people are very, very afraid because they don't know what happened and why it happened."Police said Richard Harper and his wife, Demetria Harper, both 32 years old, were found by their two children in the basement of their home shot to death.Beaver Falls Police Chief Charles Jones said, "Any homicide is very traumatic, especially when it involves children. It's a delicate situation, and we have to interview them."Investigators found evidence of forced entry and said it appears the couple may have been targeted.
