Driver Accused Of Hitting Trooper In Chase

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. -- A Donora man is accused of backing his car into a Pennsylvania State Trooper and leading police on a high-speed chase.Police said Bradley Sloan, 42, was stopped at a gas station in Youngwood. A state trooper observed an equipment violation. When he approached the suspect's vehicle, police said Sloan backed up his car, hit the trooper in the leg, and then sped off.The trooper was not seriously hurt. He was able to get back to his car and pursue Sloan into Hempfield Township.The chase continued until Sloan lost control of his car along Hillis Street and crashed into a tree. But he wasn't done. Police said Sloan took off on foot. He was soon captured by the trooper. Sloan is now in the Westmoreland County Jail.
