WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. -- Eight phone lines at the West Mifflin police department malfunctioned late Thursday afternoon.

Calls were re-routed to the Munhall emergency center, which then dispatched officers from West Mifflin.

Verizon says four telephone cables that were damaged by water earlier this week have dried out.

One line still needs a new section of cable.

Full service is expected to return over the weekend.
