Posted: 4:53 pm EDT July 8, 2008

Leo Clements III, 24, of Beaver Falls, faces numerous charges Tuesday for reportedly traveling at speeds more than twice the legal limit on Route 65 over the weekend.

According to the Beaver County Times, Harmony Township police attempted to pull over Clements’ motorcycle after it was clocked traveling 109 mph in a 55-mph zone. When Clements failed to comply a chase ensued, and local police departments in both Baden and Conway were notified of a reckless driver who was headed there way.

In Conway, police estimated that Clements was going 140 mph and also ran a red light as he weaved through traffic during the chase.

Police were eventually able to stop Clements using a road block which shut down all northbound traffic on Route 65.

Clements has been charged with reckless endangerment, fleeing or eluding police, speeding, reckless driving and driving while suspended.
